A Global Christmas Celebration

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a celebration concert with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra! We are delighted to announce that on Thursday 10th December at 7.30pm GMT there will be a very special live streamed Christmas Celebration that has been filmed exclusively for you in the historic surroundings of St Albans Cathedral, a stunning building located in the heart of England’s Home Counties that is almost 1000 years old.

Every year for almost 20 years, John has conducted a pair of concerts in the Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, large choir, soloists and with an audience of 5,500 people who sing their lungs out to some of the great Christmas hymns. While it isn’t possible for that to take place in the usual way this year, we are excited to take this year’s celebration global. You will be able to tune in from wherever you are in the world and watch this special concert live, and rewatch as many times as you like for a full 12 days afterwards.

There is a stellar line-up of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, vocal octet VOCES8 and three wonderful soloists: Roderick Williams, Melanie Marshall and Andrew Lucas. The concert will be presented by acclaimed actor Simon Callow.

Why not dress up, pour yourself a mulled wine, warm a mince pie and tune in for a unique Christmas concert, featuring your favourite carols, rousing fanfares, Yuletide classics and much more. A joyful event, guaranteed to fill you with Christmas sparkle and cheer!

Tickets are available from £10 from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra website.
