Insights evening into the life and music of Beethoven and performance of Beethoven’s Septet by the Outcry Ensemble’s principal players.
In what promises to be a fascinating evening, conductor James Henshaw is joined by a fantastic panel to discuss the music of, and life of Ludwig van Beethoven. James will be joined by Oscar Perks, leader of the orchestra, and will be performing extracts from symphonies on the piano, as we look in depth at this extraordinary music and how it changed the possibilities of a symphony. Dr Imogen Tedbury will give insights from the perspective of similar trends in the History of Art world, and we are delighted to be joined by John Rutter CBE, a world famous composer and Ruth Padel, a highly acclaimed poet who has recently released a critically acclaimed book “Beethoven Variations” which the New York Times said “tells the great composer’s life story, more profoundly than most biographies”
The evening begins at 7.30. After the talk there will be a short interval which will be followed by a performance of Beethoven’s Septet, performed by the section principals of the orchestra.
