On this day in 2006, Ave Maria was published by Oxford University Press.  This gentle setting has all the tranquillity and grace associated with this ancient text. It is fashioned from a simple rocking theme, which weaves serenely through different keys as the piece unfolds, culminating in a descending chain of overlapping phrases before the final hushed and reverent cadence.
