On 3 July, 1986, Candlelight Carol was published. Inspired by Geertgen’s painting Nativity at Night, Candlelight Carol centres around the love of a mother on that first night in the stable.

Candlelight Carol is recorded on The John Rutter Christmas Album and is published by Oxford University Press.
