Cantate Domino

SATB with divisions; Unaccompanied

An unusual and dramatic anthem for SATB choir (with divisions) unaccompanied

The English verses, starting ‘O sing unto the Lord a new song’, are framed by the Latin first line ‘Cantate Domino canticum novum’. The words and plainsong melody of the ‘Veni Creator Spiritus’ make an unexpected and effective entry towards the end of the anthem. It is also included in Rutter’s Psalmfest.
