Open to all singers whether you sing regularly in a choir, in church, at school, or simply enjoy singing for pleasure.

The afternoon will be spent exploring some of John’s most loved choral works in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, guided by John himself.

No audition or prior preparation is needed, and music will be provided on the day. Just bring your voice and enthusiasm! We look forward to a joyful afternoon of music-making together.

Join John in St Ives (Cambridgeshire) as he talks about his busy life as a composer and conductor: Confessions of a Composer.

 

A highlight of the festival decade – John is going to Braunschweig to hold a large choral day in the cathedral with the choirs of the Cathedral Choir School, the Braunschweig State Orchestra, and other interested parties. Anyone with choral experience is welcome to participate in this rehearsal day.

Following the choir day, an Evensong will take place in the cathedral, also under John’s direction, showcasing the results of the joint rehearsals.  During this service, the cathedral will resonate with music – the choirs of the cathedral choir school and the guest choirs will perform with John Rutter and the State Orchestra.

The Evensong service will likely be broadcast live from the cathedral to the castle square. A warm invitation is extended to all!

A cherished friend of the Orchestra, John returns to the podium to lead a programme featuring his celebrated works.

If you love singing, and can read a bit of music, this inspiring workshop is for you. John will be returning to Dorchester Abbey for a day of choral singing to lift the spirits.

He explores some of his favourite treasures of English church music – and brings along some of his own well-loved shorter choral favourites.  Copies will be provided!  Enthusiastic singers of all levels are welcome to a hugely enjoyable day with this inspirational teacher. The singing day is aimed primarily at singers with some choral experience, but all are welcome.

Accomplished soloist and accompanist Anita D’Attellis will be the accompanist for the day.

Join John and members of The Bach Choir for a unique opportunity to sing selected works from John’s cycle of spirituals Feel The Spirit alongside a mixture of familiar favourites to bring some midsummer sunshine.

All singers who read music are welcome. If you’re interested in coming but aren’t feeling confident about your singing then do let us know – we can pair you up with a member of The Bach Choir on the day, who will be more than happy to help.

A mixed programme of works by great masters of choral music, with music old and new, including some of John’s recent pieces, for a fun afternoon of music for singers at all levels.

This event runs from 31 Oct to 01 Nov 2026: two full days of music, inspiration and community, culminating in a festive closing concert together with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra.

Up to 1,500 singers will combine their voices to form a massive choir and work under the personal direction of John Rutter.  Singing together creates a bond – and the opportunity to be part of a project of this magnitude rarely arises.

Join the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and John for this much-loved Christmas spectacular – full of John’s own works and arrangements, as well as seasonal symphonic classics and sing-along carols – all conducted by John himself and featuring the highly esteemed Bach Choir.

We are pleased to present two performances of this festive extravaganza on Friday 4 December 2026 at 3pm and 7.30pm.
