John will be visiting Australia next month for the Sydney Inspires music conference, organised by the NSW branch of the Royal School of Church Music.

There will be plenty of opportunities for the public to see John in action.  He will be rehearsing the festival’s choirs during the week of 6-14 July, as well as training aspiring conductors and working with assembled children from across Australia and NZ who are flocking to Sydney for the conference.  He will also be holding a lunchtime lecture about his life and career in St Andrew’s Cathedral and conducting a festival of lessons and carols there too.

As part of the Festival of Sacred Music Schwäbisch Gmünd, John Rutter will be presenting a Singing Day, which is a great opportunity to experience the famous composer and his musical works closely.  **SINGING DAY SOLD OUT**

At 8pm there will be a gala concert including the award ceremony for the Award of European Sacred Music.  The Chamber Choir of Europe, conducted by Nicol Matt, will be presenting choral works of John Rutter and contemporary choral music. John Rutter will conduct two pieces from the Singing Day, involving the participants of the workshop.

The Sherborne Choral Course runs from 21-28 July 2019. Applications now open to all 15 – 18 year old singers and organists. Join promising young talent for a week-long residential choral course in the historic Abbey town of Sherborne. John Rutter Singing Day – Benslow

John Rutter leads this brand new Singing Day devoted to choral pieces by a variety of composers old and new and some of John’s own music.  The event is suitable for those who have at least some choral experience and music-reading ability, but no advance preparation is expected.  Join us for a fun day of music-making and John will also slip in some vocal and musical hints and tips for singers.  The day will begin at 11am and will end by 5pm.  The fee includes lunch and the usual breaks for tea/coffee and cake.

In September 2018, ORA Singers announced their first Composer Competition in two categories: Open and Youth. European Choir Games – Workshop

Austria, Germany and Latvia were already hosts for one of the most prestigious European choir competitions, the European Choir Games. In 2019 the 4th edition of the event will once again take place and explore a new destination: Sweden – nation of choristers!

Singers from all over the world are invited to join, compete and celebrate a grand festival of choral music in Sweden at the Grand Prix of Nations Gothenburg 2019 & 4th European Choir Games.

One of the events taking place during the Choir Games is a singing workshop – Meet the composer: John Rutter introduces his music.

John Rutter is one of the best known, and most in demand contemporary British choral composer, whose works are performed widely throughout the world. In this 90-minute session everyone will have a chance to sing and get to know some of his choral pieces, sacred and secular. John will speak about the music and offer hints and tips for performance.
