The Gramophone Award-winning 1984 recording of Fauré’s Requiem. The first-ever performance on disc of the work in its intimate original version – re-discovered by Rutter in the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris after a century – it remains one of the jewels in the crown of the Collegium catologue.

This album explores the secular works by Rutter: Fancies is an Elizabethan poetry cycle; When Icicles Hang sets texts by Shakespeare and Campion; the Five Childhood Lyrics set a group of simple rhymes in a spirit of fun and fairytale; and the six-movement Suite Antique for flute, harpsichord and strings ranges from simple, classic ‘aria’ to upbeat ‘jazz waltz’.
